Whether you're an IUPUI student, faculty member, alumni, or a member of the entrepreneurial community, there are numerous opportunities to get involved in the Innovation to Enterprise Central activities and programs.
Ideas Solving Social and Economic Challenges (ISSEC) Idea Pitch Competition
The Ideas Solving Social and Economic Challenges (ISSEC) is a competition to reward IUPUI students for their innovative ideas to solve social and economic challenges facing the nation and the world. The emphasis of the competition is on providing answers to real-world problems, through new approaches, products, services, or ventures. ISSEC challenges IUPUI students--individuals or teams--to propose original solutions to pressing social and economic challenges.
Students (undergraduate or graduate) with an original idea showing commercial promise or with potential for significant social impact are encouraged to participate. Throughout the fall, the OVCR will host several networking and workshop events to help participants meet others with ideas or those interested in joining a team. Students will receive information about these events via email. Before starting, students should read the ISSEC Competition Guidelines (PDF).
Finalists will be eligible to apply for further support to help them turn their entrepreneurial ideas into reality through the Innovation to Enterprise Central business development teams.

Innovation to Enterprise Central (ITEC) Commercialization Teams
ITEC facilitates the creation and support of collaborative multidisciplinary research commercialization teams, consisting of students from multiple academic disciplines, faculty and other participants. The primary purpose of these teams is to provide students a unique opportunity to work with mentors on learning about research innovations and exploring opportunities for their transformation into commercial enterprises. The ITEC experience is meant to promote students' interest in invention and business development, in order to prepare the next generation of innovators and business leaders, who will contribute to the economic growth and social advancement of Indiana and the nation.
ITEC is sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, a collaborative effort between the Center for Research and Learning (CRL) and the IUPUI Solution Center, in partnership with IUPUI academic and research units.
